Coté 5 sur 5Â par A really nice dress that didn't work with my body I love the color, the fabric is good quality and it is very nicely lined. As a whole the dress feels well constructed and substantial, and I really like the look of the lace at my neck. But unfortunately the rest of the dress doesn't really work with my body type. I am flat of chest and belly, with a really long torso. So the waist of the dress hits me considerably higher than my natural waist, resulting in a bit of an empire waist. As is well known, empire waists do nothing for flat, lithe people. The dress looks fine on me with a padded bra, but "fine" and "padded bras" are not what I aim for when dressing for a party. So for any long torsoed who find themselves here, their knowledge that this dress probably won't fit well warring with the fact that it is their favorite color and they love lace, I am here to say: No. It won't fit right. Go try it on in the store if you can't accept reality. But I would recommend this dress wholeheartedly to curvier people or people with short torsos. 12 octobre 2012
Coté 5 sur 5Â par Very flattering Somehow I missed this dress online but it caught my eye in the store today. I was looking for something for an upcoming wedding and this dress turned out to be perfect. I'm usually a 2 or 4 in Anthro dresses and debated between the two sizes forever but finally went with the 2. There is a stretchy elastic panel in the back of the waistband that really helps with the fit of this. Also, if you are pear-shaped the A-line skirt is really flattering. I think the price is reasonable too. 28 octobre 2012
Coté 3 sur 5Â par Conflicted, but will keep it So I'm really on the fence about this dress. My conflict can be summarized like this: LOVE the look, HATE the feel. On the one hand, the design and color are beautiful. The fit is very forgiving (a 4 was the only size available in store, and I expected a 6 to be correct, but the 4 works fine. I'd say this dress may run slightly large.) and I absolutely love the lace yoke. This particular shade of blue goes well with a lot of other colors and looks great with black. I wore it to work and am going to wear it to a casual cocktail party, and appreciate that it is flexible that way. I am 5'10" and it hits me about 2 inches above the knee. On the other hand, the dress is made in China, and I can really tell when I wear it. It has the feel (I mean this literally, like the feel on your skin) of a designer knock-off, made of the kind of polyester I expect from kid's Halloween costumes. The polyester wrinkles VERY easily, which to me makes the whole dress look immediately cheaper. It is the kind of fabric that could pull and bunch anywhere there is a hem, because it has zero give to it -- as such, the hemline at the bottom looks very fragile to me. It says it is machine washable and dryable but I will definitely not be doing either of those. The craftsmanship is "meh, ok." Overall, I will be keeping it because it is so hard for me to find work-appropriate dresses and I do love the color, but I am so disappointed with Anthropologie lately for carrying these cheap, cheap, cheap fabrics. I am NOT 100 % anti-synthetics and believe they can be done well, but this kind of polyester isn't worth over 100 $ USD! If this dress were made of a synthetic/cotton/wool blend, I would be in love. 20 novembre 2012
